Building an AI-Ready Knowledge System with RAG on Azure
Overall answer accuracy

weeks From kickoff to production
Project Background
Our client provides AI-powered detection services for smoke, water leaks, and other safety risks. By analyzing data from sensors and connected devices with artificial intelligence, the company helps its customers detect incidents early, minimize damage, and respond faster than traditional monitoring allows.
As an AI-first company, the client already runs several digital solutions and has an ambitious roadmap, including a platform that will give its customers direct API access to its detection capabilities.
Success Metrics
Complex challenges require structured thinking. We turn fragmented inputs into clear, actionable direction.
Adversarial and prompt-injection resistance
Source formats processed
Multi-turn conversation pass rate
Test scenarios evaluated
at a glance
End-to-end knowledge pipeline
that collects, cleans, structures, and indexes business documents of different formats.
devPulse AI Assessment Framework
automated testing that scores every answer for accuracy, groundedness, completeness, and tone, with zero tolerance for fabricated facts
Self-updating knowledge base
new and updated documents are processed automatically.
One gateway for everything
shared Azure infrastructure ready for new channels, existing solutions, and a future API platform.
Hybrid AI retrieval
combining keyword and semantic vector search for precise, grounded answers.
Serverless architecture
that scales with demand and keeps idle costs close to zero.
Multi-channel by design
the AI chatbot is the first channel to access the knowledge, with more to come.
Business Challenge
Like many growing companies, the client’s knowledge was scattered: product descriptions, technical specifications, integration details, and guides lived in PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, and web content. Valuable information existed, but it was hard to find, inconsistent, and impossible to use in AI applications as it was.
The client needed to turn this raw content into a single, clean, AI-ready knowledge system that could reliably answer questions, stay current as services evolve, and serve as a trusted source for any future AI product.
The first goal was to give website visitors instant expert answers through an AI chatbot, but the answers had to be accurate, and accuracy had to be proven, not just promised.

The Solution
devPulse designed and delivered a complete AI knowledge system on Azure: a pipeline that turns raw documents into structured, searchable knowledge, a proprietary framework that proves answer quality, and an AI chatbot as the first channel to put that knowledge to work.

Key Decisions That Made the Difference
Knowledge first, interface second.
We built the knowledge system as the core asset and the chatbot as one way to access it. This means the client’s data investment pays off across every future channel, not just one.
Proving quality instead of assuming it.
The devPulse AI Assessment Framework tests the system across difficulty tiers, quality dimensions, and multi-turn conversations, with zero tolerance for fabricated facts. Every change to data, prompts, or models can be verified before it reaches users.
Investing in data quality.
Cleaning and structuring the source content before indexing is what separates reliable AI answers from confident-sounding mistakes.
Hybrid search for precision.
Combining keyword and vector retrieval ensures the right knowledge is found regardless of how a question is phrased.
Automating knowledge freshness.
Automatic processing of new documents removes the most common weakness of AI systems, outdated answers, without ongoing developer effort.
Serverless, model-agnostic, and built for the roadmap.
Consumption-based infrastructure keeps costs aligned with usage, AI models can be upgraded without rebuilding, and the shared APIM gateway turns a single project into the first step of a platform.
The Result
In just 9 weeks, the client turned scattered documents into a structured, AI-ready knowledge system running in production. Information that once lived in disconnected files is now cleaned, organized, and instantly accessible, with quality validated by the devPulse AI Assessment Framework: 99% accuracy, zero critical fabrications, and full resistance to manipulation attempts. The AI chatbot already puts this knowledge to work, giving every website visitor an always-available product expert and passing every serious inquiry to the team with full context. The knowledge base keeps itself current, AI costs stay tied to real usage, and the client fully owns the code, documentation, and know-how.
Most importantly, the client now has a reusable knowledge foundation, ready to power new channels, internal tools, and its future API platform.

Value Delivered by devPulse
Documents in different formats are collected, cleaned, structured, and indexed into a single source of truth that AI can use reliably.
devPulse AI Assessment Framework confirmed 99% accuracy, zero critical fabrications, and 100% resistance to adversarial attempts, and re-checks the system automatically whenever the knowledge changes.
Shared Azure Front Door and APIM infrastructure supports new channels, existing solutions, and the future API platform, all in the client’s own environment with complete handover.
Serverless infrastructure, traffic limiting, and token quotas keep AI spending proportional to real usage and operational effort minimal.
The AI chatbot is the first access channel, and the same knowledge can power internal assistants, self-service flows, and API access.
New and updated documents are processed and indexed without retraining or developer involvement.
